Arwin Threkin served on the Moff's Council first under Jagged Fel, then as the Grand Moff under his son. He retired shortly before Roan Fel became the head of the Galactic Empire. It was shortly after this point that he disappeared completely from the public eye. It was thought that the man had gone into seclusion and to retire in privacy.
Arwin Threkin was a political mastermind. He had a long history with the military, but this is not what earned him his position as the head of the Moff’s council. Grand Moff Threkin had a gift for puzzles, for seeing how the little pieces fit together to make a bigger picture. It is because of this that he disappeared. Threkin saw the plotting of Moff Veed, though he did not yet know the extent of the man’s ambitions. Veed had the Sith deal with the meddlesome old man. It was his wishes that they just kill him, and that is what he believed had happened to the old man. Threkin, however, had managed to convince the Sith that he might be of use to them, so they locked him away on the planet Ash.
And on the prison world of Ash, Threkin remained for almost two decades, while the civil war tore through the galaxy, while the true Emperor was sent into hiding, and while the Sith took control of the Empire that Arwin had so loved. It was there that he remained until a mission to rescue Jarec Horn and Lexi Lar brought the old man, driven slightly mad from his imprisonment, the freedom that he had so given up on.
