Craygan was once one of the most powerful men in the galaxy. He was one of the heads of the Black Sun. There are those who believe that he was in fact The Head of the Black Sun. Despite the fact that the man could kill a man without even blinking or ever thinking about it again, he had a wife that he loved and two beautiful children. His wife was a xeno-archaeologist and was the currator of the Ryloth Museum of History. He would sit back in the evenings and listen to her ramble on and on about some long dead king from twelve millenium ago and watch his children play and forget about all of the pains of the day.

Then his world changed in a fiery explosion… His family transport was wired with an explosive. He and his family were on their way out, when it exploded. Craygan's wife and children were killed in the explosion. He was left in tatters. The left side of his body was severely burned, and his injuries resulted in the loss of his left head tendril and the use of his left eye. The bomb was set under the orders of Lady Nolaa Tarlona, a rival crime lord, trying to move up in the ranks of the Black Sun. And that is what she did.

Craygan was left devastated by the loss of his family, and by the social stigma of not being able to communicate with the use of his head tails. He swore that he would not have a graft made to replace the head tail until Tarlona was dead. He withdrew from a lot of his business, both legitimate and criminal. The rest of the galaxy who knew of Craygan saw what he wanted them to, a broken man whose will was shattered. In truth, Craygan has been patiently waiting for his chance to strike back, a chance for revenge, a chance to take back everything that is his, and a chance to make all of those who had a hand in his fall suffer as he climbs his way back up to the top.

Craygan has built up a rather impressive gallery of relics and artifacts that he keeps in his personal museum. He has a list of things that his wife always wanted a chance to see, so he is collecting them for her. He is almost as obsessed with his collection as he is for getting revenge, and at times, that obsession even rivals his thirst for revenge.

He has had three wives, since his family's murder. The first two just didn't work out. He tried to love them, and he just couldn't. His most recent wife, Deeta, is a different matter. They are partners, allies, and friends. There is passion between the two of them, but that seems to just be a side note.
