The Bellair family has been part of the Imperial Knights since their founding by the first Emperor Fel. They have been loyal servants of the Emperor. As a result, for generations, the Bellair family has known a great deal of freedom and luxury. When the true Empire went into exile, Ewing was forced to give up all of the lavish playgrounds that his family had acquired over the years. Both of his parents were killed in the coup to eliminate the Emperor and his trusted retainers. In many ways, Emperor Fel is like a father figure to him. He would give his life for the man without a second thought.
