Kavan Leral is one of the, if not the, wealthiest men in the entire galaxy. It is said that he is untouchable by everyone but Darth Krayt himself, and even some believe that Krayt would not dare act against Kavan Leral. The man’s interests span the galaxy, and he has his fingers in nearly all venues of life.
The man is a known philanthropist and single-handed pays for more charities than the Imperial Mission does on its own. Just as much as he can be the heart of charity, Kavan can also be one of the deadliest enemies someone can make. Worse yet, most do not realize that they have made that fatal mistake until it is too late.
The House of Leral is an ancient line from before the days of the Old Republic and is thought to be the last bloodline of historical icon Empress Teta. Unlike his alleged ancestor, Kavan Leral seems to have no objections to dealing with the Sith. In fact, Kavan Leral’s holdings have grown even greater under the Sith’s reigns. Much like the Bothans, Darth Krayt realized that the best way to deal with Leral was to buy him.
What the Emperor doesn’t realize is that Kavan Leral’s ambitions run much deeper than he could possibly imagine. The man is a treacherous viper waiting to strike. His goals are set for Krayt’s removal and his own ascendency to that of the benign Emperor. If he has to leave the galaxy in ashes to do so, then so be it.
Kavan realizes that he would be a terrible ruler, but one that could set the Empire back into order. He would be both the savior and the tyrant and deliver the Galaxy into the hands of one whom the people would love and adore, his own daughter, Kolani Leral.
