Krai B’Shaki is a young Nagai orphan. He acts a lot older than he really is, which is just over seventeen years old. The transport ship that he and his family was on was attacked by pirates. He was one of the lucky ones to not be killed and was sold to slavers. Luckily for him, the slavers thought that they would add an older Wookie to their lot. Little did they know that the Wookie was a retired professional prize fighter. After overthrowing the slavers, the Wookie freed the other prisoners. Krai had no where to go, so the Wookie took him along with him.
Krai has been with Tarc ever since he was rescued by the older Wookie. In many ways, Krai has decided to uphold the Wookie’s lifedebt and has sworn that he will never abandon his captain. In truth, Krai doesn’t know what he would do without Tarc and is afraid to try to find out. The old Wookie is the only family that the young Nagai has now, as he has not been able to find any trace of the family that was on the ship with him and believes that they perished in the pirate’s attack.
Krai has an overwhelming about of nervous energy, which the Wookie has tried to harness, by teaching the Nagai how to use his hands to fight with. While his own fighting styles do not appeal to Krai, the two have begun to work on a routine that does make sense for the agile, little Nagai.
